The Bold & Indie creative journey started half way to Florence, Tuscany. The artist behind Bold & Indie, Maree lives with her beautiful family, rescued horses and happy pups in Australia.
She draws from her life experiences and survival as a source of inspiration that comes with living with an unremitting disability. Ceramic and sculptural art meditation is undertaken by creating and exploring female torsos and figures with colour, glazes composition and layout. Maree is continually inspired to sculpt and paint the world, in various points of view, tones, colours, and shades from the inside out. Her main themes and focus looks at mother earth (Gaia) and femininity and what it means to be a woman with a disability.
Maree's 12 years of academic teaching in digital media, multimedia, mixed media and photography has allowed her to particpate in local initiatives such as logo design for the City of Greater Bendigo Senior Choir: Forever Young as well as produce stage animations and backdrops for school theatre productions.
A 2012 recipient of the Cultivate Professional Development Grant awarded by Arts Access Australia, Maree continues to walk a journey of self and profession discovery in ceramics and decorating.
